In wake of the spread of novel variant of Corona Virus, the Courts in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir have recently moved to virtual mode which have become the major concern for majority of the practicing lawyers across the UT of J&K and Ladakh.

Keeping in view the difficulties being faced by the advocates due to Corona Virus, a Jammu based advocate, M. Zulkarnain Choudhary, has submitted a representation to the Hon’ble the Chief Justice of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh and has requested to grant financial assistance to the needy advocates of J&K and Ladakh.

Mr. Choudhary has submitted in the representation that Hon’ble LG of UT has already sanctioned Rupees One Crore as financial assistance to the advocates in the mid-year of 2021.

The representation further reads that the grant is lying unutilized with the Learned Registrar General of the High Court and the same needs to be disbursed among the needy advocates of J&K and Ladakh.

Mr. Choudhary has also sought directions to the Ld. Registrar General for the disbursement of the financial assistance in favor of Advocates practicing in the High Court and Sub-Ordinate Courts in the UT of J&K and Ladakh.
